Your Journey to MASANA

Your safari adventure begins upon arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. MASANA will meet you at arrivals and assist with your luggage and firearm transfer. From there, enjoy a comfortable 270km (168 miles) drive through the scenic Limpopo province to Lentegeur near Dwaalboom. The journey takes approximately 3.5-4 hours, offering your first glimpse of the African landscape.

Climate

February - April

Warm temperatures with lush, green vegetation. Excellent for photography and active wildlife viewing. Afternoon thunderstorms are common.

May - August

Cool mornings and evenings with dry bush conditions. Excellent hunting visibility as vegetation thins. Clear skies and comfortable daytime temperatures.

September - November

Spring weather with beautiful sunsets and excellent game movement. Temperatures begin to warm. Outstanding hunting conditions.

We recommend layered clothing to accommodate temperature variations throughout the day.

Currency

The local currency is the South African Rand (ZAR). Credit cards are accepted at the lodge. We recommend bringing cash for gratuities and personal purchases.

Credit Card Payments

We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express, and Diners Club. Processing fees apply: VISA/Mastercard 2.5%, American Express 3%, Diners Club applicable fee. Bank transfers are welcomed and encouraged.

Electricity

South Africa operates on 220-230V, 50Hz. A travel adapter is required for most international devices. South African plug types are used throughout the lodge.

Internet and Communication

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all lodge common areas. Mobile reception may vary in remote bush areas. Satellite communication is available for emergencies.

Passport and Visa Requirements

A valid passport is required with at least 6 months validity beyond your departure date and a minimum of 2 blank pages. Visa requirements vary by nationality. Please consult your local South African embassy or consulate.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering: trip cancellation, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, lost baggage, firearm coverage, and trophy shipping protection.
